St. Philip Orthodox Christian School, located in Davie, FL, is a faith-based micro-school offering personalized Orthodox Christian education for students from PreK-8th grade. Dr. Del Vento, ED.D

Ida Passaro is an exciting addition to the St. Philip Orthodox Christian School team. With 8 years of experience in education, she has dedicated her career to fostering a love of learning and supporting the growth of her students. She holds a Bachelor’s in Leadership from Sullivan University, where she developed a strong foundation in communication and cultivating future leaders. Throughout her career, she’s been privileged to teach all elementary grades with a focus in Kindergarten, and she takes great pride in creating an engaging and inclusive environment for all of her students.
In her classroom, Ida believes in differentiated instruction, fostering critical thinking, building a strong sense of faith, and promoting collaboration. She incorporates a variety of teaching methods, including Orthodox Christian videos and Gospel lessons, to address diverse learning styles and needs, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive. Her goal each year is to create a love of learning within her students along with supporting their spiritual life and growing relationship with God. Ida often uses saints’ lives as inspirational examples in her lessons, connecting Orthodox tradition with daily life. She also integrates elements of Orthodox Christian homeschooling techniques to provide a personalized education experience.

Ms. Maria brings over a decade of experience in nurturing and educating children as a private nanny and teacher assistant. With a strong foundation in early childhood education, Maria is dedicated to fostering a fun and supportive learning environment where every child can thrive. Passionate about serving the Orthodox Christian community and families that God has blessed her to be a part of, Maria seamlessly integrates Orthodox Christian values into daily lessons and interactions.
As a co-teacher at our school, she is committed to inspiring young minds and guiding them on their spiritual and educational journeys with smiles along the way. Ms. Maria leads morning prayer sessions and helps students understand the liturgical calendar, enriching their Orthodox faith experience at school. She also incorporates Orthodox Christian audiobooks and Orthodox Christian podcasts into her teaching methods, providing students with diverse learning resources.

Dr. Gonzalez is a licensed clinical psychologist with a passion for mental health and personal development. A devoted Orthodox Christian and mother of six beautiful children, she is committed to their spiritual growth and ensuring they receive a wholesome education. Dr. Gonzalez believes in the transformative power of nurturing environments, blending her professional expertise with her devotion to family and Orthodox Christian faith.
She strives to empower those around her, fostering resilience and growth in our Orthodox Christian community. Dr. Gonzalez’s background in psychology and theology allows her to provide unique insights into the integration of faith and learning, enhancing the spiritual life of students at St. Philip Orthodox Christian School. She also offers guidance on Christian parenting and emphasizes the importance of Orthodox Christian family time in a child’s development.
